Donate at home is a fund raising initiative. Donate@Home allows participants to donate towards funding by using their GPU to ‘mine for BitCoins’. This novel way of generating funding involves contributing within the bitcoin experimental network. Crunchers don’t gain bitcoins in this project, the project does and can convert these into standard currencies. Donate@home’s first goal is to raise enough funds through the collective contribution to be able to contract a research student for the Gpugrid group. The science and costs of this new community funded student will be reported in these pages and accounted for. You can also donate directly to Gpugrid via the donation page or make bitcoins donations at 19b62wRL6hGEWa1bLbkdjaiWvZm1C56XuL. Crunchers receive credits, which represent participation and have a symbolic value of your contribution.
The project is at the alpha stage and experimental, and the site is still under development.

Die Projektbeschreibung:
We are a research group in computational biomedicine devoted to understanding the interactions of small molecules and proteins which is essential for designing new drugs. Our activities pursue scientific and academic goals to advance scientific research, with the invaluable help of all the volunteers that donate computing power to the gpugrid.net project. Most of our research expenses are in human resources, we hope that donate@home will contribute to support us in this way as well, to be able to do even higher quality science. For a list of publications and scientific goals, visit the science page. Thanks to all doners.
This is a test initiative from the group which also manages gpugrid. If you are in doubt, or you would like to ask information please contact ps3grid@gmail.com.

d@h was not able to be up consistently in the past few months. It has never been a champion of stability due to the complexity involved but now it's even worse with no apparent difference in the infrastructure.
Adding to this is the advent of ASICs for bitcoin crunching. These chips are way more power efficient than GPUs and so it makes no sense to keep crunching on GPUs.
The results of ASICs is that when we started the network power was around 8. Tera hashes/s. Yesterday was 110. This also mean that in the past few months we could not solve any block.
I'll be away for the next month, but as soon as I get back we will be reporting on what we have done and what we plan to do. Most likely stop it and re-purpose it.
For now, I would like to thank everybody who participated and wait for the reporting in 1 month. |

We have turned the project down to fix the problem. It should take less than 24H. |
| Zitat: | 30 Apr 2013 | 13:41:20 UTC Project up again
The problems should be fixed now. |
