Sollen die User den Sternendreck mit dem Augen finden und nicht per Crunchen ? Dafür sind meine Augen zu schlecht. :-)
War das nicht das Projekt, das noch Geld fürs Crunchen wollte, kann mit aber auch irren.

Nee, das warn die glaub ich net.
Also wirklich schwierig ist das nicht mit den Augen, ist halt bissel Übungssache.
Fakt ist halt der, dass das menschliche Auge einfach besser ist als ein Computer (liegt wohl am Gehirn dahinter  )
Der beste Beweis für die Existenz von außerirdischer Intelligenz ist gerade die Tatsache, dass sie bisher keinen Kontakt zu uns aufgenommen haben.

Also irgendwie sind alle Tracks die ich find in Calibration Movies....

So - bin glaube ich dem Problem auf den Grund gegangen und fündig geworden.
Absturz meines PC nach zu langem "Staubaufwirbeln" - scheinbar beim Laden der einzelnen Bilder bin ich zu schnell und dadurch wirbelt halt zu viel Staub auf.
Na ja - machen wir halt langsam voran.

Ich hab mal grad meinen Stardust-Account durchgeguckt: Unter "My Events" kann man sich ja alle seine "Track gefunden"-Bilder nochmal anschauen.
Lustig zu sehen, dass man mit manchen Funden allein dasteht und bei anderen gibt es zig gleiche Bewertungen von anderen Usern.
Das heisst zwar nicht, dass es sich wirklich um einen Stardust-Track handelt, aber zumindest waren sich schonmal viele einig, dass es einer sein könnte.
Mein "Spitzenreiter" hat 70 gleiche Bewertungen ("Number of Agreements") gekriegt. 
EDIT: Es gibt auch noch die Spalten "Official status" (da steht momentan noch "indeterminate" (unbestimmt) und "Stardust@Home Team Official Comment" (da steht meistens nichts, bis auf manche wo "Bad Focus" steht).

Ich hol mal wieder den Sternenstaub hervor - nicht damit wir einnebeln. Mittlerweile hat es über 11.000 User und wenn man nicht dran bleibt, kann man kaum mithalten. Ich hab es mittlerweile erst auf 520 vorn Real Movies 2570 Ergebnisse gebracht - Spitzenreiter hat schon über 10.000 -

*LOL* Ja, stimmt, nicht dass wir gleich Sterne sehen vor lauter Staub...
Das blöde ist (was den Schnitt anbelangt), dass jeder Fehler bei den Calibration Movies sofort bestraft wird mit schlechteren Werten bei "Specificity" und "Sensitivity" und man ewig braucht, um da einigermassen wieder dran zu kommen.

Das mit den URLs, um Calibration Movies zu erkennen, stimmt übrigens nicht mehr. Ham die Füchse geändert, habs auch bei Tipps & Tricks reingeschrieben.

Juhu, hab was gefunden! Also vielleicht wenigstens...
Habe gerade noch mal meine "Event"-Liste angeschaut, da ist tatsächlich ein Fund dabei, der inzwischen einen offiziellen Kommentar vom Stardust@Home Team bekommen hat: "IS candidate? WCO".
WCO steht für "worth checking out", der offizielle Status dieses Movies ist: "Passed cut 1". Bin gespannt, was die weiteren Tests ergeben!
Da macht die Suche doch gleich wieder richtig Laune, wenn was dabei ist, was möglicherweise echter Sternenstaub ist!

How do you work with a $200 million collector? An update.
On September 18, the Stardust@home project director, Andrew Westphal, presented the current status of the Stardust@home search to the CAPTEM Stardust Oversight Committee at the Lunar and Planetary Institute near NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. Dr. Westphal is also the chair of the committee, but he set aside that role when making this presentation. The question at issue was: how do we further investigate the candidate interstellar tracks that Stardust@home collaborators -- you!! -- have identified, with minimal risk to the collector?

Habe heut ne Email von Stardust bekommen, in der Phase 2 angekündigt wird:

By scanning these new movies our dusters will be able to pinpoint even smaller and subtler potential tracks. A new stardust track hunt, of unprecedented sensitivity, will be on!
But first -- a short break. In order to launch this new Stardust@home "Phase 2" we will first need to end the current phase and take the virtual microscope (VM) off line for around two weeks. Our plan is to close down the VM between July 27 and August 9. The training and testing features, as well as the actual search for particle tracks, will all be unavailable during this time. We hope to have the forums and the rest of the website open during the transition.
When we temporarily disable the Stardust@home VM, we will also finalize the results of all the dusters who took part in Phase 1. The scores, rankings and candidate lists from this phase will all be preserved and permanently displayed on the Website. When the new Stardust@home Phase 2 launches in early August all dusters will begin anew with a clean slate and an equal chance at discovering more candidate stardust tracks.
