Our goal is to persuade scientists to use this kind of computations in their research and to assist them in preparing BOINC applications. We hope that scientific applications from various fields will be attractive to many current and future BOINC community volunteers and this will allow us to accumulate enough computing resources to achieve significant (unachievable otherwise) results.
Here you can find the description of the current application. You can participate in the project as volunteer if you agree to share your computer power with us to solve these scientific problems. You can do this by downloading and running a free program on your computer. Check below how to join the project. |
Anwendungen derzeit erhältlich für Windows 32- und 64-Bit und Linux 64-Bit.

Also VGTU gab's ja schon Mal (Link im VTU-Thema), deshalb hab ich einfach das "alte" Projekt wieder re-aktiviert.
Der beste Beweis für die Existenz von außerirdischer Intelligenz ist gerade die Tatsache, dass sie bisher keinen Kontakt zu uns aufgenommen haben.

Waren die Stats für das "alte VGTU" denn leer? Bin mir jetzt nicht sicher...

Ach, müssen sie ja wohl. Kann mich nicht erinnern, es jemals in der Projektcreditliste gesehen zu haben.

Es gibt neue WUs mit einer korrigierten Version von Anwendung und Validator. Die ersten Ergebnisse weisen drauf hin, daß die Linux-Version jetzt auch korrekt arbeitet.

Das Test-Problem wurde gelöst. Die WU-Erstellung wurde gestoppt, bis alle Ergebnisse zurückgekommen sind, dann wird die Datenbank bereinigt und ein neuer Test gestartet. In der Zwischenzeit werden neue Anwendungsversionen entwickelt.

Das Testproblem Nr.2 wurde von B Johansson vom AMD Users team gelöst.
Besten Dank ! Auch an alle Mitcruncher und speziell die Topcruncher,die dem Projekt ordentlich Rückenwind verschaffen.
Die Jobproduktion wurde angehalten,bis alle Ergebnisse zurück sind.In der Zwischenzeit werden neue Apps entwickelt.

Das neue, kompliziertere Problem wurde mit einer neuen Anwendungsversion gestartet, die eine geringere Fehlerrate haben sollte. Die Größe der einzelnen Jobs bleibt die gleiche.

Der Schlüssel zum Test-Problem #3 wurde von User laurenu2 vom Free-DC-Team gefunden.
WU-Erstellung wird wie üblich gestoppt und auf alle Ergebnisse gewartet, bevor die Datenbank bereinigt wird. Danach gibt es ein Update auf den neuen Servercode und einen weiteren Test mit neuen Anwendungsversionen.

New problem (#4) to solve
Checkpointing of the application has been essentially rewritten to solve the problems with the reported errors on reads and writes, especially, with the boinc client versions 7.0.x. New application versions seem to work with the latest recommended version of boinc client – 7.0.25.
New 32-bit linux application version (i686-pc-linux-gnu) has been added. It requires kernel 2.6.24 or higher. |
Das Checkpointing der neuen Anwendung wurde neu geschrieben, um einige gemeldete Probleme zu beheben, insbesondere in Verbindung mit BOINC Client-Versionen 7.0.x. Die neuen Versionen scheinen mit 7.0.25 gut zu arbeiten.
Es gibt jetzt außerdem eine 32-Bit Linux-App, die Kernel 2.6.24 oder höher erfordet.

Wie gehabt, da das derzeitige Problem gelöst wurde, wird die WU-Erstellung gestoppt, auf die übrige Arbeit gewartet und dann die Datenbank für einen neuen Test bereinigt.

New problem (#5) to solve!
Finally, we start the solution of a new problem. As more academic than scientific project at the moment, we wanted for some time to get our students involved into it. Eventually, two of our students from Technomathematics programme (lt) – Stasys Biekša and Aivaras Sukackas have got interested in creating a graphical visualization for our current “DES key searching” application. And today we release the new application version with graphics developed by Aivaras (aivaras.sukackas@vgtu.lt).
So far, graphical application is available only for Windows. You can try it out from BOINC Manager: go to “Tasks”, select running task from “VGTU project@Home” and choose “Show graphics” or enable it as BOINC screensaver.
We have included some information on our university, city and the country. We hope you will find it interesting! |
Es gibt ein neues Problem zu lösen. Mehr das akademische als ein wissenschaftliches Projekt derzeit, wurden einige Studenten eingebunden. Zwei der Studenten haben eine grafische Visualisierung für die DES key searching-Anwendung entwickelt, die heute veröffentlicht wird.
Die grafische Anwendung ist derzeit nur unter Windows verfügbar. Der Anzeige wurden Informationen über die Uni, die Stadt und das Land hinzugefügt. Wir hoffen, ihr findet sie interessant!

Es geht weiter,wie gehabt.
Neue Arbeit gibt es zunächst nicht,bis alle Ergebnisse zurück sind.Dann wird der Servercode erneuert und eine neue Suche gestartet.
