Das Projekt wird offiziell erst am 23.07.12 gestartet,hat aber bereits 144 000 Simulationen geschafft.Das Projekt ist noch beta,aber wenn 94 Millionen Simulationen gelaufen sind,ist wahrlich ein Meilenstein erreicht.
Nächste Woche gibt es zwischen den Exprimenten eine kurze Auszeit,dann sollte alles wieder laufen.
FM@H braucht neuen Schlüssel,deshalb ab- und wieder anmelden !

We have a few updates:
1. We have regenerated our signing keys but due to a technical problem they will not be distributed automatically. Please attach and reattach to the project in order to receive new workunits. We apologise for the inconvenience and will ensure that it does not happen again.
2. We are having issues with a small percentage (less than 1%) of Windows computers and a very small percentage of Linux users. We are working to release new app versions in order to address these problems.
3. We have limited the number of tasks in progress per computer to 20 per CPU core. Although this has not been an issue for some, we have had a large number of aborted tasks as a result of sending too much work to each node.

FightMalaria@home braucht einen neuen Schlüssel je Rechner.Aufgrund von technischen Problemen kommt der Schlüssel aber nicht automatisch zu euch.Deshalb muß das Projekt ab- und wieder angemeldet werden.
Außerdem gibt es Schwierigkeiten mit weniger als 1% aller Windowsrechner und einigen wenigen Linuxrechnern.Es wird an dem Problem gearbeitet.
Auch wurde die Anzahl der Wutzen je Rechner und Core auf 20 Stück/Core gesenkt,weil viele Wutzen abgebrochen wurden,nachdem die Rechner mit Wutzen überflutet wurden.

In den nächsten 12 Stunden werden keine WUs mehr ausgesandt. Das System wird noch optimiert und das Projekt wird bis zum 30.7. zeitweise offline gehen müssen.

144.000 Datenpunkte des ersten Sets des "Kontroll"-Experiments müssen jetzt durchgegangen werden. Das System scheint soweit gut zu arbeiten. Der nächste Batch mit 1,2 Millionen Docking-Berechnungen ist in der Queue und bereit zum Start.

We have had some server problems. For this reason, we will not be sending new tasks for a few days.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We will be up and running again soon. New apps and workunits are coming soon too. The new apps should be a bit faster and compatable with a wider range of hosts, while the workunits will be significantly shorter. |
Wegen Serverproblemen wird es für ein paar Tage keine WUs geben.
Es sind aber neue Anwendungen und neue WUs geplant. Die neue Anwendung sollte etwas schneller und auf mehr Rechnern lauffähig sein, während die WUs bedeutend kleiner sein werden.

Hi everyone,
We're still having problems with the server. However, the good news is research IT have agreed to provide us with two far better servers. We hope to move the project to these over the weekend but it will likely be Wednesday before we are back up and running. We will not be sending new workunits until then.

Es gibt immer noch Probleme mit dem Server, allerdings wird es zwei neue, bessere Server geben. Geplant ist, daß der Umzug dieses Wochenende stattfindet, aber es wird wahrscheinlich bis Mittwoch dauern, bis das Projekt wieder online ist. Bis dahin wird's natürlich auch keine neuen WUs geben.

Das Projekt ist wieder online. Ungefähr 1,5 Millionen Dockings werden in Kürze starten.

We have over 4 million results thus far, and % completion is as follows:

Progress has slowed as we're now docking larger molecules with more rotatable bonds. |

keine neue Arbeit in den nächsten 24 Stunden !
Ein Backlog des Validators muß bereinigt werden,deswegen wird es erstmal keine neuen WU´s geben.Sobald der Server wieder online ist,gibt es auch wieder Arbeit.
Anfang nächster Woche wird die Datenbank aufgeräumt.

Changes to the credit system
Hi everyone,
We are currently working on a new credit system which will ensure that everyone is awarded a fair amount of credit. The current system is failing as some users are receiving far more credits than others for the same amount of work.
To fix this we will predefine the amount of credit for each workunit. The amount will be based on a multiple regression of previous results from my own trusted hosts. It will likely be ready early next week.

Das Creditsystem wird neu aufgebaut. Für jede WU wird es eine vordefinierte Anzahl an Credits geben, die auf einer multiplen Regression vorherigen Ergebnisse basieren wird. Es wird nächste Woche eingeführt.

Wegen eines Hardware-Fehlers wird es heute eine kurze Auszeit geben. Neue Aufgaben werden erstmal nicht verteilt. In einigen Stunden sollte wieder alles richtig laufen.

A few broken WUs
Hi guys,
We are cycling through some old WUs some of which contain errors. There only enough for about 12 hours of computation and things will be back to normal thereafter. This is just to finalize a set of completed experiments. |
Es werden derzeit einige alte WUs berechnet, die auch Fehler enthalten. Sie sollten für ca. 12 Stunden Berechnung halten und finalisieren ein Set an komplettierten Experimenten.

Es gibt wohl ein längeres Problem, Wu´s werden zwar verteilt, bei mir z.Z. 100 in Bearbeitung, jedoch ist der Assimilator nicht gestartet und über 500.000 Wu´s warten noch auf Aufnahme. Nachrichten dazu gibt es keine.

We found a small bug in the assimilator daemon which preveted assimilation of WUs for about 2.5 days. We are now turning off the work generator to allow the assimilator to catch up. We will likely be up and running again at this time tomorrow. |
Da gab es wohl einen Bug im Assimilator, der das Problem verursachte. Die WU-Erstellung wurde erst mal abgeschaltet, damit er aufholen kann. Morgen um diese Zeit wird's wohl weitergehen.

Database Problem

One of the tables in our task database has been corrupted. As a result we will be down for at least a few hours while we restore from a recent backup and ensure that we aren't missing anything. We will be back up and running soon. |
Eine der Tabellen in der Aufgaben-Datenbank wurde beschädigt. Bis eine Wiederherstellung durch ein Backup vorgenommen wurde, ist das Projekt ein paar Stunden down.

Exciting news from the FM@H project - first in vitro validation comes up with hits!
Dear all,
We've had our first major success from the FightMalaria@Home project. After analyzing the data generated in the first phase (docking all the 400 MalariaBox compounds against all models), we have ranked lists of potential inhibitors for each receptor. But are these real? This is the kind of question that keeps us up at night.
Now we can rest easy - we've tested the top 20 hits using a model of the Plasmodial form of HDAC (histone deacetylase) in a laboratory (Dr Marian Brennan, RCSI, Dublin), and found THREE new inhibitors! So that's just one of the 1,500 receptors that we're docking, using only the best docking results (i.e. only the 20 best ligands).
It's a fantastic result, giving us hope that there are other gems waiting to be found in the data that you've generated on your home PCs!

Das Projekt hat einen großen Erfolg erreicht: es wurden drei neue Inhibitoren dank eines Plasmodial-Models gefunden.
Es wird eine Veröffentlichung mit allen Details darüber in einem offenen Journal geben.

Der Server ist momentan überlastet. Die WU-Erstellung wird für 1-2 Tage abgestellt, damit der Assimilator aufholen kann.
